The Inukshuk Nook room is also adorned with pictures and sculptures of the Inukshuk.  The Inukshuks (the actual plural is inuksuit) are stone figures created by the first inhabitants of the Canadian north, the Inuit.  The Inuit have lived in the areas now called Canada, Alaska, and Greenland for thousands of years and inuksuit can be found in all these regions.

The word "inukshuk" is an Inuktitut word meaning "to act in the capacity of a human" and comes from the word "inuk" which can be translated as "human being".  Innunguaq , is a representation of stone structures that translate to “in the likeness of a human.” Mr Robert Webster of Maple Leaf Studio makes original, one of a kind Innunguag in various sizes.  His popularity is growing in leaps and bounds, and his Innunguaqs would grace anyone’s home or office.  Visit Robert's website: http://www.mapleleafstudio.ca

The two fabulous Inukshuk pictures on the wall were graciously donated by Mr. John Shardalow a professional photographer from Toronto.  The location is just 30 minutes North of our B&B at Honey Harbour.

Her deep feelings for Georgian Bay live in the art she creates; her rocks and water reflect the love and warmth she has for this unique part of Canada. She has also developed a great affection for the character of old farms and lighthouses, but her passion is the Bay.

While primarily known for her miniature paintings, Lu has developed a style and format based on watercolour for her medium. She also paints larger pieces and commissions that now hang in homes and collections from Switzerland to California, England to the Bahamas.

A veteran of dozens of juried exhibitions, private showings and public shows, Lu has won international awards and a place in the hearts of art aficionados everywhere.

Membership in the Miniature Art Society of Florida Inc. has brought her increased international exposure and Lu's work is getting global recognition. Lu's work is in the collection of Her Excellency, former Governor General of Canada, Adrienne Clarkson.
